AGS in collaboration with GE Multilin almost finished that project in a huge LNG Train Plant (propriety of Sonatrach), in Skikda Algiers. This plant has a budget of more than 4 billion dollars.
This project has started in 2007. Main purpose was to build a new LNG train after the explosion suffered in December 2003. The old LNG train was fully destroyed by a gas escape explosion.
LNG trains: LNG trains perform the converting process of the natural gas into liquid gas to facilitate maritime transport.
AGS-PMC 100% has engaged in the project from the beginning (2011), reserving some engineers for these works exclusively. Struggling with the added difficulties to reach customer work goals, and to avoid any delays carrying out his activities following customer schedules. Since this date, we have caused zero delays by our tasks in our all commissioning times. That´s why GE Multilin have trusted in AGS-PMC to develop the totally amount of commissioning in this project.
The most important tests were carried out successfully during our more than 8 commissioning:
-Precommissioning: Secondary test in 5 UR/G60 units (generator protections relays), testing several protection functions through fault condition simulation.
-Checking signals between G60 and all systems involved in this project (Mark VI, PMS, GEP, etc.).
-Commissioning: Primary test in all units, testing with primary values several protection functions.
-Synchronization: Using G60 25C protection function the synchronization between generator and bus bar were tested in auto & manual mode.
Troubleshooting, and basic training to Sonatrach staff technicians.
Nowadays it is in under shutdown maintenance revision by the project leader company KBR (Texas, US).
Pending point: Actually we are waiting to be required again by General Electric in this project to realize High Load test in all units. These tests should be done after shutdown maintenance.
Involved companies: AGS-PMC/GE Multilin, GE Nuovo pignone, KBR, Sonatrach.
